Please let us know if you are planning to stay elsewhere. | WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO TRYOUTS? You must bring a jersey, preferably a numbered jersey. If you do not have a numbered jersey, bring a blank jersey and we will give you number at the field. Bring all of your lacrosse gear, including running shoes and cleats and your own water. You will also need a signed waiver for tryouts. If your player has taken part in an SLC event in the 2009 calendar year, then a waiver is already on file. If he/she is new to SLC this year a waiver signed by the parents is mandatory. Copies will be on the field for those that need them. HOW DO THE AGE GROUPS BREAK DOWN? U19 – You must be 19 years of age, or younger, during the 2010 travel team season. You can be a high school graduate, but you cannot turn 20 during the season and cannot have started college. U18 – You must be 18 years of age, or younger, during the 2010 travel team season. You cannot be a high school graduate. U15 – You must be 15 years of age, or younger, during the 2010 travel team season. You cannot have any high school lacrosse experience. WHEN IS THE OFFICIAL SEASON? Season begins: June, or as soon as school gets out Season ends: Early August, with potential options for Fall tournament play (additional fees may apply) WHAT IS THE COST FOR TRYING OUT? Tryouts are free. However, if a player is offered a position on the team after a round of tryouts, a non-refundable portion of the team dues must be paid to secure his/her position on the team. Once the partial payment is received, the player will not need to attend tryouts again. If a player opts not to pay team dues when they are selected, they forfeit their confirmed spot on the team and must attend addition tryouts to be reconsidered for the team. WHAT ARE THE TEAM DUES? The team dues are $375 per player plus individual travel expenses. This year, players will also be fundraising money to help cover the coaches costs WHERE WILL I BE TRAVELING TO? Travel: Training Camp – Chico (players only), Vail (U19), Tahoe (U18/U19), others TBD. WHAT IS THE PRACTICE SCHEDULE? Practices are typically two times per week, including one weekend day and one mid-week day. Prior to tournaments, coaches may add additional practices during the week. Players will have a training camp to kick off the season, at least one scrimmage and 2 tournaments. |
