Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT EQUIPMENT WILL I NEED?
For one-day clinics, you do not need your own equipment, although it is recommended. You should, however, send us an email to see what equipment we have available. At day clinics for girls, we usually have extra sticks and goggles on hand, but yo will need to bring your own mouth guard. At day clinics for boys, you will usually only be required to have a stick. Sometimes, more advanced clinics will require, in addition to a stick, gloves and a helmet. If you do not already own the required equipment, send us an email and let us know what you need. We can either loan you out the equipment for the day, or point you in the right direction.
For boy's and girl's camps, you will need to have your own equipment. For SLC Summer and Fall League, you can request to rent equipment for the entirety of the league, but supplies are limited so it is on a first come, first serve basis. At ALL SLC events, players should bring their own water bottle with water, snack and mouth guard. Unless otherwise discussed, there will not be extra equipment at the field at SLC events.
WHAT IS THE RATIO OF COACHES TO PLAYERS?
We usually like to keep a 10:1 ratio of players to coaches. Since the number of players can go up and down on a daily basis (especially during Summer League), the ratio may change a little in both directions, but should overall stay at a consistent 10:1 ratio. When we have guest coaches, the ratio is usually smaller so that each of the kids is able to get more time with the coach.
I HEARD IN THE WEATHER THAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE RAINY/REALLY HOT TODAY, SHOULD WE STILL COME OUT?
YES! SLC events are held rain or shine. The only reason for a cancellation is lighting (for obvious safety reasons) and if there is a heat wave advisory. Although it is not always desirable to play in the rain or the heat, most of our guest coaches come from far away and do not have time in their schedules to come back. We will always be sure to keep the players best interests in mind and will notify everyone as to a change in the schedule. So unless you hear otherwise, please show up to the field at the scheduled time.
I CAN'T FIND A NUMBER ON YOUR SITE AND I WANT TO TALK TO A LIVE PERSON, WHO CAN I CALL?
YES. While SLC does not have a direct line, you can call Lacrosse Fanatic at (916) 363-8700, for general information. Before trying to call, please check our website for the answer, as we try out hardest to keep the site updated with the information you need. The best way to get specific information is to send us an email at saclaxclinics@yahoo.com.
I DON'T WANT TO PAY ONLINE. CAN I PAY ON THE FIELD, AT THE START OF THE EVENT?
YES. Especially for events where space is limited, especially Fall Ball, it is best to email us in advance to reserve your space. We will reply to you when we receive the email and will put you/your player on the roster for the event. When you arrive at the field, we will have you fill out paperwork and make your payment.
WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE FOR YOUR EVENTS?
Most events are for ages 8 through 18. If there is an age limit, or restriction, we will post it along with the details of the event.
